A Trip to Heaven - Sweden - Let's discover this beautiful archipelago together.
The Stockholm Archipelago is an excellent area for charter sailing, especially for crews looking for safe, relaxed cruising in beautiful surroundings. Thousands of islands create naturally sheltered waters, which means short daily distances, calm conditions, and many places to stop along the way. This is a sailing trip where you will be amazed by your heavenly surroundings, colorful nature and delicious food.
Saltsjö Pir
We will start our journey at Saltsjö Pir in Fisksätra near Saltsjöbaden. A great marina with clean facilities. The restaurant in the marina is very popular and there are supermarkets nearby. So this is a great place to start our thrilling and relaxing journey.
Grinda
Distance from last location: 14 nmWe will start our journey to Grinda early in the morning. Visiting Grinda is like coming to a place where the world stands still. Located just one hour from central Stockholm, you'll find yourself as far as possible from the madding crowd. Only one thing exists here. The greatest peace and quiet. Grinda has a nice guest harbour with 2 restaurants, showers and shops. Framfickan Bistro is a great place to eat on the edge of the shore.
Finnhamn
Distance from last location: 12 nmOur next stop is Finnhamn. It is situated in a group of 3 islands bordering the open sea "Stora Jolpen", "Lilla Jolpen" and Idholmen. You can swim from the rocks or from small sandy beaches. There is a nice restuarant Finnhamns Cafe and Krog with a lovely seaview and a supermarket open during summer. Every minute we spend in this little gem will be relaxing, and refreshing.
Sandhamn
Distance from last location: 16 nmOur next stop is for Party, family and kids. Sandhamn is, for many people, associated with sailing. It is located in the outer part of the Stockholm archipelago. A summer resort and a popular sailing destination in the outer archipelago-often called "Cowes of the North". We will moor in the main marina. The harbour is very attractive with restaurants, cafes and shops. A short walk across the island takes you to sandy beaches. A great place to enjoy every minute you stay here.
Malma Kvarn
Distance from last location: 12 nmMalma Kvarn is a small harbor with a small restaurant. Much loved by any guest it acoomodates. Malma Kvarn is a guest harbor run by the Swedish Cruising Association (Svenska Kryssarklubben). A calm and lonesome place to dive into thoughts about how lucky you are.
Utö
Distance from last location: 13 nmUtö is a larger harbor with many restaurants, shops, bars, showers, it is very popular here. Utö is one of the biggest, but also most popular islands in the South Stockholm archipelago. At Utö, iron ore has been quarried since early medieval times. It is presumably the oldest mine operating until modern time. The mining operating seized at the end of 19th century. but the there are still buildings and remains of it on the island. After the mining epoch, Utö became a centre for bathing and one of the first resorts for the Stockholm population.
